My Bio:
Linda came to realize along time ago that she had
two options. First was to become a product of her
environment, and second was to pick up a mic. So
after some time she decided to pick up the mic.
Growing up in the inner city and with the state as
her parents, her choices were limited. She knew the
code of the neighborhood and that was you don't talk
about how you feel, or you would be weak. So she
decided to pick up a pen and let it all out.

after some time she decided to pick up the mic.
Growing up in the inner city and with the state as

about how you feel, or you would be weak. So she

From that point she has been unstoppable. Her only sanity, where she would not be judged, was
found one night in New York City. Linda walked into an Open Mic Café. She could remember
clearly how nervous and afraid she was, but that did not stop her.
When Linda picked up the Mic and free flowed from the heart she could feel the base of the
applause. She knew right then and there that her destiny would change. In between the struggles
and hardships she continued to write and use the mic as her outlet.
She has been published in poetry books and has won many writing contests. She has had the
opportunity to perform with great Legends, through poetry, translating words through sign
languages, to monologues. As one of the founders, she knows that The Rilyc will supply the same
outlet in which she found, to many in her community.
Since The Rilyc will be near the new upcoming Casinos, she hopes to steer them away from
gambling their lives away and instead come to an environment where their voices will be heard -
somewhere anyone can just "pick up the mic."
